(III) In addition to the qualifications already

mentioned as necessary before appointment, a

Land Bailiff must have:

(1) A good general education.

(ii) He must be competent to appear in Police

Court, on behalf of the Crow, and hold his

om against Architects and Solicitors in

all land cases.

(111) Because of the great temptations which are

continually placed in his way, he must be

a man of unblemished character and integrity.

He must be an expert in land matters,

increasing sum as annual revenue to the Crem,

In the Annual Report on Public Works for 1919, it is

recorded that the revenue derived from temporary permits

amounted to more than $36,000,00, this result being due,

in a large extent, to the vigilance of the Land Bailiffs

in keeping down encroachments, In the same report it is

recorded that the revenue from land sales amounted to

$151,527.00 (about). The conscientious execution of the

Land Bailiffs duties materially assist in increasing the

land sles.
